SVWI members are not traditional jam makers. However, when each member was given an empty jar and asked to fill it for sale at our local Gruffy Fair, they came up trumps! We had jam, marmalade, lemon curd, pickles, sweets and even jewellery. We also ran a free competition where children scoured the grounds for knitted toys all made by our members. Alongside homemade cakes, preserves and plants, we sold a wonderful selection of our handcrafted gifts, including linen bags, purses, hairbands and spectacle cases. Thanks to the generosity and hard work of our members, we raised more than £300 this year for local charities.
